On March 16, 2018, during the first circular of the 2018 NCAA Segmentation I Men's Basketball Tournament, the University of Virginia (Virginia; too UVA) Cavaliers played a college basketball game game against the University of Maryland, Baltimore Canton (UMBC) Retrievers at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Cavaliers, who were seeded starting time in the Due south regional subclass and kickoff overall in the NCAA Tournament, faced the Retrievers, who were seeded 16th in the South regional subclass. Aftermath and redemption [edit]
Immediately after the game in an interview, Virginia passenger vehicle Tony Bennett remarked,
